Sword Study Overview
The Bible Bee's exclusive Sword Study materials are designed to help families dig into the Bible in a deeper, more systematic way to encourage accurate interpretation and powerful life application. The Sword Studies feature engaging stories, maps and other visual aids, a prayer journal, recommendations for helpful study tools, and schedules for verse memorization according to age division and track. (Binders not included.)
Each participant can gain knowledge and understanding and establish a pattern for life-long investment in the Word and prayer. The Parent Guidebooks parallel the Senior Studies with the addition of Quick Notes for easy review. Parent Guidebooks also include ideas for Family Bonfires, a weekly time of fun and sharing what you have learned over the week through the Sword Studies.
Each year's study will vary according to the selected book, but will follow the same general framework, based on the inductive study method:
Week One: Overview of the entire book
Weeks Two through Eleven: Study each chapter deeply
Week Twelve: Summary
Each week begins with an introductory devotion, followed by five days of study. Each day begins with “Pray, Write, Pray,” a heart preparation time which includes prayer and writing out of Scripture, followed by an investigative study of the chapter with real-life application. The daily time concludes with prayer according to the A.C.T.S. model (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication.)
Our prayer is that every contestant and every family that invests in a summer of Sword Studies will come away with a deeper understanding of and appreciation for God and His Word.
