National Contest
On November 5–6, 2009, the inaugural National Bible Bee Contest will be held at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. This world-class competition will include the top one hundred finalists in each of three age groups, who have been identified through their participation in Local Contests held throughout the United States. On the first day of the National Contest, all contestants will be tested in their knowledge of Bible memory passages and Bible facts. All contestants will complete both written and oral tests, and the top twenty-five contestants in each age group will continue on to compete for a second day. During the semi-final round, the number of contestants will be reduced to ten in each age group; these contestants will then compete in the final single-elimination round to determine the winners of the National Contest awards. The Bible Bee Competition will distribute more than $260,000 in prize money with $100,000 being awarded to the first-place winner in the top age group.
