Pray for Us
If God has ordained all things, why pray? Because God has also ordained that one of the major means He uses to accomplish His glorious purposes for time and eternity is our crying out to Him in petition, confession, and praise. Much of what God does is only in answer to prayer. Let’s cover our families, our churches, our neighborhoods, our pastors, our nation’s leaders (local and national), and the National Bible Bee in passionate prayer. For the fervent prayers of the righteous “can accomplish much” (James 5:16).
As you lift up the National Bible Bee, please pray for:
- God to be glorified in every aspect of this ministry (1 Chron. 16:24).
- Many lost people to be saved (Rom. 10:1).
- Affiliated local churches to increasingly enjoy and exalt the Savior (Phil. 4:4; 1:20–21), equip the saints for ministry (Phil. 1:22–25), and evangelize the lost (Phil.1:12–18).
- Unity among all of those involved in the Bible Bee (John 17:20–23; Eph. 4:1–3; Phil.4:1–3), as causing disharmony is one of our Enemy’s most common and successful tactics.
- Keen wisdom for those who lead the National Bible Bee: the Advisory Board and the directorship of Mark Rasche and his team at Shelby Kennedy Foundation Bible Bee Headquarters (1 Kings 3:9–10).
- Protection from the Evil One for all involved (John 17:15).
- Spiritual growth for all of the contestants and their families (James 1:22–25; 1 Pet. 2:1–3). The goal is not merely to memorize Bible facts and verses, but to become more like our glorious Lord Jesus and to win the lost to Him!
- A renewed Biblical perspective on the element of competition and the monetary awards associated with the Bible Bee (Ps. 119:72, 127, 159, 160, 162, 164; 1 Tim. 6:6–19).
- Perseverance through the summer and fall months for each contestant and those helping them learn Bible facts and memorize Scripture (Prov. 12:27).
- Wisdom and Spirit-controlled leadership skills for our beloved Bible Bee Chairmen as they organize the event (Ps.78:70–72; 119:98–100, 105; Acts 6:3; Eph. 5:16–21).
- Cooperation from local pastors and churches who host the Local Bees, September 12 (Phil.1:27).
- Wisdom for the Theological Team as they compile the Written and Oral Tests for both the Local and National Contests (2 Tim. 2:15).
- A clear and fruitful witness to non-Christian friends, neighbors, relatives, and unsaved family members who observe the God-magnifying lifestyle of each person involved in the Bible Bee (Matt. 5:14–16).
- Media personnel who cover the Local and National Contests, that they will see the glory of Christ, understand the true gospel, and trust Him as their Savior (Acts 16:30–31).
- The multi-faceted technology required for this ministry to work well and for wisdom for those in charge of its operation (Exod. 36:1–4).
- The Lord of the Harvest to raise up Spirit-controlled, Christ-exalting servants to take the precious Gospel of Jesus to every nation of the world as a result of this ministry (Matt. 9:35–38; 28:18–20).
